As I'm on my last day off and in the midst of major cleaning (I cleaned the kitchen junk drawer for the first time, and am planning on tackling the bedroom (AKA dumping ground) later today. So this will be short. But the whiny email from the MoveOn(Left) morons today just made me have to comment.
Here's the email [with embellishments]:
Dear MoveOn [HA!] member,Why are [the big mean] Republicans holding health care hostage?
More importantly, why are Democratic leaders letting them? [porta-spines?]
The chair of the powerful Senate Finance Committee, Max Baucus, is refusing to release a bill until he can reach a deal with [the big mean] Republicans—who are ideologically opposed to a public health insurance option and are stalling as much as they can [despite having no real power].
And instead of taking the reins, [flaccid] Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid "gave his blessing" to Baucus' latest delay.
Tomorrow, Senate Democrats are gathering for a special meeting to talk health care. It's the perfect time for your senator, Sherrod ["the color of shit"] Brown, to speak out and tell Sens. Reid and Baucus that allowing Republican obstruction to stop health care reform is just unacceptable.
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This, from the party that "won" the election, and therefore the right to do what they want?
Is there a reason they're not just passing all the things they want (wait, that was the Bullshit package)?
Is it because, perhaps, they know that their base will blindly vote for them anyway and the all-important swing vote will take a walk?
So all the MoveOn(Left) whiners can do is blame those evil Republicans. And it gives me happy tinglings. No pics to come of that, though.

When their plans fail (and they will) then they want to be able to blame the Republicans, and not have to take all the blame themselves.
If they think their plans will be successful, then they'd want to be poised to take all the glory, wouldn't they?
Whan it's all said and done, the Democratic leadership is fighting for a bill they can call a victory no matter how watered down and pandering to special interests it is. Keen observation Patrick. I would tip my "asshat" to you, but you've never awarded me with one yet.
I was banned by Professor Donald Douglas. I was called a "mother fuc$3r" by a legitimate candidate for United States Congress. Mayors and state legislators have cringed at what I might blog about them. My reputation gets richer but I can't get my picture on The Illustrious Patrick M's "Asshat of the Week."
Beth: I think we're thinking alike.
101: If the leadership was really fighting, they'd have passed the bill. But when have politicians ever had the balls to fight when the polls are shaky.
And I'll find you some asshattery eventually. Just have to find the right time and subject. Besides, it's not always meant in an insulting way.
Mike: While I can appreciate such jokes (as I thought of them too), you need to at least touch the subject of the post or get the deletion.
Tao: Do you need me to break out some of my more creative expressions so you don't feel left out? I haven't used "pissdrizzle" or transfuckrifier" on anyone yet. Not sure how to apply them to you, but if you're feeling that underdespisesd.... :)
Patrick,
You are very creative but whatever you decided to call me would be considered an honor...
Its just hell when you are a nice guy and everyone likes you....

Not if he's relentlessly pursuing the truth. Thus, the silence.

He's not the only one with designs for a Swedish Penis Enlarger. My birthday is coming up....
