Krishna, and Pagans, and Perverts, Oh My!

Now that I'm done wallowing in my own self-pity, thanks to my always supportive and usually argumentative fellow bloggers, as well as the idiotic ravings of the anonydolts (one of which asked me to pull his or her blog off my blogroll, which is hard to do when anonydolts are involved.), let me tackle a subject brought forward (unwittingly, of course) by said anonydolts.  Because while I did learn a few things, and will be correcting some things I've been doing that don't add to the blog, it was yet another reminder of why I prefer the company of people I may vehemently disagree with on almost everything to people who's ideology may be similar, but is wrapped in massive ignorance and utter intolerance of Joe McCarthy, the Phelps family, and their disreputable and soulless ilk.

First let me quote the cowardly bastards a little, and answer some specifics quickly [emphasis will be added]:

Your liberal friends are out for one thing and one thing only, to get you to agree with them on their terms or to make you look like a fool when you don’t agree with them. We conservatives are really are a people of God, we might have to start acting that way, if we are going to get anywhere. The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, ... and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to face....

While your liberals friends walk all over this God forsaken blog. It’s time you gave it up and hung up your keyboard. It’s time for you to take up a new hobby, this one has bitten the dust. You have turned it into a liberal haven. I have stopped commenting here long ago but I just wanted to say what I had to say and get it off of my chest.. Good bye.

I didn't think God has forsaken this blog.  After all, He did give me the talent and drive to keep writing in the face of dum (intentionally misspelled) people. And as for the reason I emphasize the above bit is the main part of this post. Read on.

But Patrick, we never see you take a stand on these issues [health care and how it relates to abortion]. A blogger needs to step up to the plate.

Uh, I've beaten the health care issue like a baby seal, a red-headed stepchild, and myself in a private moment all at the same time, I've pounded it so much. And I think I covered the abortion issue a few times, and had to ban the subject because some people can't have a conversation without hitting you with a dead fetus. But this must be because I'm a godless heathen.

Why not delete the whole blog? No one but those 4 turds truth101, Tao, Shaw and the Hare Krishna Nut case bother to post here anyway!

While the nut case may not be far off (kidding), there seems to be a pattern where religion is concerned.

And those pictured on the blog below [horse sex and bumper balls]a re the most disgusting thing ever. Goes to show that you are a pervert not a conservative.

Well, this person never saw the 2girls1cup site (no, I'm not linking to that). And if being a perv makes me not a conservative, so be it. I happen to be a conservative libertarian, if a label is required. Usually I try to avoid it.

MY ADVICE TO YOU IS TO PUT LESS SUGAR IN YOUR LATTE AND NOT TO QUIT YOUR DAY JOB.

DID EVERYBODY GET THAT?!?!?! Actually, I drink coffee. Black. Black as my heart. Black as my soul. Especially according to the "righteous" above.

Now, why did I waste my time with these morons? Very simple. I've talked to a whole lot of people. I've met many soulful people of quiet faith. I've met a few seekers who can't lay claim to any specific faith but possess a good amount of wisdom. I've met the enthusiastically faithful who are open and share the joy their faith gives them. Even the atheists who come here seem to be good at heart and not out to molest my daughter just to be able to abort her baby for delicious stem cells.

But on the other hand, there is a group that carries their faith with all the delicacy so the Spanish Inquisition, demands theologically-dictated ideological purity from anyone on their side like a Chicago union thug squad, and unleashes a Nazi blitzkrieg on those they deem as "not of the master race (of God)." They're the kind of people to whom I'd suggest that their "God" and their "Jesus" can go circle jerk somewhere because I have no use for them.

And you can pretty much guess what the'd say about thee Air Force Academy adding a prayer circle for druids, wiccans, and other pagans of various stripes.  I'm sure I'll get to in the next day or so.

Now let me clarify something (as though I haven't before). I have been a Catholic for most all my life (they get you right out of the womb). I stopped calling myself Christian after dealing with too many people who called themselves that who used it as a weapon against the "impure" in ways that would make JC take the whip of cords to their asses (something about misusing God's name (wait, isn't there a Commandment for that too?)).  And the evolution of my faith has taken me to a point where I can't justly identify as a Catholic anymore.  I'm somewhere between unitarianism and deism right now, at least until something rebuilds the fires of faith (if ever).

But I can't fathom attacking the religion or god or faith of another unless they are using their bastard faith as a way to disparage me or attack my personal beliefs.

Jesus (who's divinity I may question, but who's example unquestioningly makes him a person to follow), did not get the apostles together to sit there and hang only with the faithful.  He went out and hung with the outcast, the wrongdoer, the condemned.  And by example, he led many of them in the right way.

To bring this to blogging, if that means that I have a community of folks who (as best as I can gather) include a deist, 3 atheists, several Christians of various stripes, and a Hare Krishna (who gets this it better than most), as well as my perverted, ever-questioning, ever-seeking, non-assuming, trusting-in-God cute ass, as well as welcoming anyone who does or does not profess any faith as long as they're willing to listen, exchange ideas, and not bludgeon me for something so personal as my beliefs, then so be it.  And that includes the pseudo-Christian anonydolts.  Who lack balls, being anonydolts.

Because if we can't find the common faith that we share as people who possess the freedom to seek God in our own way, and speak without fear of attacks by the unruly masked bandits (whether it be the KKK or the anonydolts), then we are all lessened.

And if that's the case, then it's time to pick up a big damned proverbial stick.

On a final note, here's a gratuitous random pic I found just to offend someone out there.  I'm good at that.  I should keep it up.

Why thank you again, Anonymous, for supporting me and saying you believe I am fine enough to give advice.

Well gee-whiz Shaw! Youz gitz all the Trollz!

Thanks, man.

I think the reason I get singled out over my religion is because people aren't familiar with it, and thus to them it's frightening and strange, and they react defensively out of their ignorance, instead of stepping up to actually educate themselves about it. It's much easier to just call me a nut case.

Religion is not a bludgeon. Some people don't understand it.

Patrick: This is yet another priceless comment by an “Anonymous Troll”! So, he/she is a person of God but he/she has to START acting that way. Really? This person doesn’t act that way now, huh? Plus this person has to ACT! That’s pretty pathetic, if you want my opinion. I was under the impression that goodness was natural and came from the heart. I didn’t realize morality was akin to evening wear and one only donned it when invited to a fancy party.

Patrick: If that’s who you have and they “have your back” then you are doing quite well, my friend! Keep up the good work and don’t let the DOLTS get you down. I know it’s difficult because there are MORE of them than there are of US, BUT we will prevail!

This is such a non-comment. It says a lot of nothing. It carries no substance and is basically just a bunch of words that let the commenter feel all self-righteous and important, while actually putting forth zero constructive sense.

These comments are common. They reflect the immature, peevy nature of the person (people?) who write them, who have plenty of anger but no intelligence to direct it anywhere, and who fear the big world outside their small box that they can't comprehend.

I would agree with the poster who said conservatives are a people of God:

"Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother."
– Isaiah, 9.19

"But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."
– Luke 19.27

"Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel." -Deuteronomy 17:12

"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." Leviticus 20:13

If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death Leviticus 20:9

If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the girl’s virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done a disgraceful thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house.
Deuteronomy 22

For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death
Exodus 35:2

"Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed"- Exodus 22:19

"They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman." -2 Chronicles 15:12-13

"Cursed be he who does the Lords work remissly, cursed he who holds back his sword from blood." -Jeremiah 48:10

Liberals however tend to be more like Jesus...other than the fact that many don't believe in god. But as far as a living philosophy of feeding the hungry, healing the sick, helping the poor, doing onto others, greed is evil, turning the other cheek (sometimes), dealing with our own sins before pointing out other peoples sins...etc.

So there, I completely agree with that conservative.

Here are some more famous God quotes which conservatives may identify with:

If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property. Exodus 21

Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.
Peter 2:18

Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property.
Leviticus 25:44-45

I prefer the quotes from Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, who put things into proper perspective, instead of ripping things out of context as you did in order prove a point identical to those religious bigots who twist Koranic quotes to make Islam into nothing other than genocidal devil worship.

But I guess it's pretty apparent that you don't understand religions that are different from your own, and have great contempt for believers who don't share your faith.

Context or not, I still think slavery is bad Dmarks. As is "Killing the infidels" etc.

I was called a "little antiChrist" by one of my sixth grade teachers at Holy Family in North Chicago Patrick. I'll bet you have a few good stories yourself.

It was sheep back then. Horses came later.

D:

I quoted things out of perspective?? Really? Not the author of Revelations?? Not the people who use one verse in Leviticus to condemn homosexuality when in the same book eating shellfish is equally as condemned.
